Another way to discover a city is by means of play.

CityTracks - GPS game

Citygames by “La Mosca” are made for groups who are looking for outside adventure. The entire city forms the decor for this game. Players travel around the city equipped with a GPS telephone which enables every player to see where his teammates or opposite party is at any time.

One out of other games is “CityTracks”. This game is basically about learning your way around the city. Find the answers to questions and complete assignments.

Every team receives a GPS phone with a map of the city. On this map a location is depicted as where this team needs to go. On every location a question is posed or a assignment is given. At a successful answer or completion points are earned and a new location is revealed.

In the meantime a saboteur is walking around trying to switch off the GPS phone when in short range. This will cost the team time and points. This saboteur can be avoided by taken in mind the GPS radar.

The games last two hours and can be played by private groups in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Enschede and Groningen. Business groups can play the game in any city in the Netherlands.

Pictograms for tourists

Besides a walking route and recognizable buildings, pictograms can be used within a map to tell a lot of information without using text. These days a lot of different styles are used designing the pictograms. But, the main shape of each pictogram is practical the same. Using universal pictograms you make sure (most of) the tourists will understand the information told.
